Disneyland’s Fantasmic has so much history to it. I know you like the Florida one better but I think most people hold the opinion that the Florida version was already inferior to Disneyland version even before they updated the one in Disneyland. Anyway, Fantasmic only exists because of the unique challenges of presenting a big show where it wasn’t supposed to belong - the Rivers of America in Disneyland. From the two stage light towers, to the princess rafts, to the reason why the characters are on a steam boat instead of the stage at the end. It’s all because of what they had to work with at Disneyland. It’s all so interesting! And probably why I personally feel the Florida version feels sterile and contrived. I forget which Imagineer said it but the reason why Fantasmic at Disneyland is so special is how Mickey is able to makes a spectacle happen out of nowhere. And it all disappears after the show. Which apparently was part of the intent of the design of the show from the start.

I'm late to the party, but wanted to say; great job on the hike, and on shooting the video! I love running in the GC, and go a couple times a year. We have a few vids posted to the channel. A few tips for those thinking about hiking or running below the rim: Training will make a huge difference. Wear a wide brim shade hat in order to keep the sun off your face and neck. Wear a wicking white long sleeve shirt, again, to keep the sun off your arms and shoulders. Not letting the sun cook you, will make a huge difference. You also won't have to slather yourself in sunblock. Drink only water mixed with a quality electrolyte drink mix, like "Liquid I.V." or "Tailwind" or "Genius Electrolytes," or similar. Consider products like GU Roctane, and have a packet every 45min-1hr. Avoid dried fruit, peanuts, and other foods that wreak havoc on your digestive system during the hike. Pack as light as possible, because every ounce, both going down, and climbing out, is going to beat you up. Wear low top trail running shoes instead of hiking boots. Shoes like Vivo BareFoot Primus, Merrell Trail Glove, etc. will feel amazing, prevent rolling your ankles in uneven terrain, provide great traction, and be sooooo light and flexible on the climb out!!! I'm not a hiking pole user, but they can be extremely helpful, so get a light set of adjustable poles and learn how to adjust them for going down, and for going up, and how to hold them/use them correctly. Bring a 5hr Energy Drink for each person. It can really make the difference when you're feeling wrecked. It's an amazing adventure below the rim, no matter how far you go, so take a few steps to make it really go well!

Good on you! I did the same trail about 5 years ago and ended up with altitude sickness (flew from Florida to Phoenix, drove to Grand Canyon, hiked down 2000ft and back up in a 24 hour period. I don’t recommend it! 😉) I admire your ability to jog the last bit! 👍🏼

Thanks for the review. After watching other videos before yours, I suspected the beaches weren't that nice. Glad to hear an honest review. I'll stick to cruises that go to Half Moon Cay instead! I highly recommend Half Moon Cay if you're like me and prefer a nice beach over waterslides (which seems to be what Coco Cay is geared towards with the renovations).

World of Color is my favorite show of all time. Glad you guys enjoyed it! My first time watching I got emotional. I wish everyone could get the chance to see that show
